Thus, the functions and objectives of the department have been reformulated to become more comprehensive and provide a variety of services for licensing, commercial control, and consumer protection. Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. It is known for its rich history, dating back 7,000 years, and diverse landscape, from 64 kilometres of pristine beaches to terracotta deserts and an imposing mountain backdrop.
One-third of the world’s population is within four hours of flying time, making it an ideal location for businesses to expand into the UAE, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. The Emirate is home to the highest peak in the United Arab Emirate, Jebel Jais, which features the world’s longest zip line, at almost 3 kilometres long. Ras Al Khaimah is at the modern crossroads between Europe and Asia.
Tourism is a rapidly expanding industry in Ras Al Khaimah and a key driver of the Emirate’s long-term economic growth. Bolstered by world-class infrastructure, the sector thrives with a growing portfolio of hotels, attractions, and services that enhance the Emirate’s reputation as a premier global destination. Committed to sustainable tourism, Ras Al Khaimah proudly holds the distinction of being the first in the Middle East to achieve Silver Certification under EarthCheck’s Sustainable Destinations programme.
